Following the Aug. 8 birth of his son Parker, singer Clay Aiken is following through on a promise he made to himself as a new dad: to publicly acknowledge that he’s gay.

“It was the first decision I made as a father,” Aiken, 29, tells the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. “I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that.”

Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans. “Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it’s going to be a lot,” said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot.

Miley Cyrus has been hanging out with a new guy – and he’s already met her parents.

On Sunday, Justin Gaston, a model and aspiring country singer, attended church in Pasadena, Calif., with the Hannah Montana star and her family. Later that night, he hit Disney’s Concert for Hope where Cyrus performed with the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato.

According to Cyrus’s rep, Gaston, 20, is “a friend from Nashville.” He met Cyrus, 15, earlier this year when he was a contestant on Nashville Star, hosted by her father, Billy Ray. Adds Gaston’s rep, Allen Osborne, “He’s visiting L.A. for the week.”

A source close to Miley says, “They’ve been spending a lot of time together while he’s in town.”

The Pinesville, La., native has modeled for Kenneth Cole and Guess, and before he was eliminated in week three of Nashville Star he told PEOPLE of his music, “My style isn’t like anyone else. If John Mayer was to meet Brad Paisley and they reproduced, that would be me.”

These days, Gaston stars as Taylor Swift’s Romeo in her new video for the single “Love Story.” The two also met on Nashville Star and, “became good friends,” Osborne adds.

Miley may want to take note: According to Osborne, Gaston has “had a ‘crush’ on Taylor Swift for quite a while.”

Jennifer Aniston reportedly met ex-husband Brad Pitt for dinner.

The former couple - who finalised their divorce in 2005 after three years of marriage - are said to have had a business dinner in Toronto, Canada, last week, where they are both appearing at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Jennifer, 39, who is promoting her new film Management, reportedly visited the 44-year-old actor’s hotel for the meal - the first time they have seen each other since their divorce.

Prior to the festival, where Brad is promoting Burn After Reading, Jennifer was said to be “terrified” of bumping into her ex-husband.

A source said: “Her people are checking and double checking her schedule to make sure she doesn’t go within a mile of Brad, let alone bump into him.

“She’s already concerned about her break-up with John Mayer overshadowing her movie, so the last thing she wants is another ex in the picture.

“It’s inconvenient having to duck and dive but more than anything she finds it embarrassing.”
